Microsoft honors all the teachers who bring innovation in the teaching-learning environment with the help of Information Technology. The ‘Innovative Teachers Leadership Awards’ introduced by Microsoft in the year 2004 is a manifestation of such recognition given to teachers globally. The participation manifolds every year indicating the acceptance of this prestigious contest. The National Winners are recognized and offered an opportunity to represent their country at the International forums to share their best practices and learn from their peers. Over a period of 6 years, teachers have represented India at several locations like Singapore, South Korea, Vietnam, Cambodia, Hong Kong, USA, Finland, Brazil and Cape Town.
ITLA 2011-2012 requests participation from all teachers across the country, teaching whatever subject in any school to compete nationwide. 5 Country Winners will be announced, with 1 award reserved for teachers with special needs. They will get an opportunity to represent India and compete with teachers from over 111 countries worldwide.
