Symbian and
Windows Mobile: Side by Side |
| Session Abstract: |
Microsoft Outlook
is an excellent example of how we maintain data
both on our device and the desktop – and synchronize
them to keep ourselves and our applications updated.
This session will discuss how you can design such
applications which have a component on the device
and the other component on the device that automatically
synchronize whenever an ActiveSync connection is
setup between them. You are, thus, also introduced
to Windows CE Remote API (RAPI) that makes all this
possible, in the process. |

Data Platform:
Windows Mobile vis-à-vis Symbian |
| Session Abstract: |
If you are working
on mobile database management systems, you may want
to compare the features and capabilities of the
different options available to you. This session
will help you evaluate the databases inherent to
two of the frequently used mobile platforms today
– Windows Mobile and Symbian. See for yourself
how one technology performs and delivers flexibility
and reliability in comparison with the other, so
as to meet the requirements for today’s enterprises
pertaining to business intelligence (BI), availability,
productivity and security. The scope of the discussion
will include, among others, the following:
* Database Engine and robust query optimizers.
* Support for multi-user access to Mobile databases,
and for merge replication and remote data access
(RDA).
* SQL Server Mobile tools integration with Microsoft
SQL Server 2005.
* Setup and connectivity issues and the ability
to create Mobile databases on desktop computers. |

Extended Symbian
Compete |
| Session Abstract: |
* Do you develop on
Symbian using C++ or J2ME?
* Do you develop on Windows Mobile using C++ or
.NET Compact Framework?
* Do you want to know which developer platform to
choose for future development?
If you answered yes to either of these questions,
then do attend this session where these stacks are
laid out together – feature by feature comparison,
right from the platform comparison, to the developer
tools, to the developer stack, APIs and most importantly
– how they affect your developer productivity!
At the end of the session, you will be in a better
position to make an informed decision as to what
tools and platforms to choose when developing your
next mobile solution. |
