This workshop will discuss the solution architecture for building a collaborative solution using Microsoft Platform.
A typical collaborative solution requires a number of requirements that include:
a workspace for sharing documents and data
unlocking data from the various back-end systems and legacy systems
interacting with legacy systems to perform a set of activities
intuitive user interface for Information worker to act upon documents and data
a robust workflow solution
We will take these requirements and we will map it to various Microsoft Product capabilities and we will also discuss about how to stitch these products together to build a coherent collaborative solution. We will be covering
SharePoint Portal Services and its web parts framework, BizTalk as integration hub, infopath for information worker and finally web services as a means to expose data and functionality encapsulated by legacy system.
