The
workshop covered the best practices for building highly
scalable and high performance applications using Microsoft
Platform. This included the basics of performance tuning,
diagnosing performance issues using various tools and fixing
them, as well as issues related to .NET Framework/CLR/ASP.NET,
Microsoft SQL Server, Windows family of operating system,
etc. The following sessions were held: |

1: Performance Tuning Concepts and Fundamentals |
| |
This
session covered basic concepts involved in designing high
performance applications. Building a high performant
application requires a good engineering culture and a deep
knowledge of the computer architecture and other higher
level frameworks and software that are required to build
such an application. The session started with a discussion
around the engineering culture and tools that are required
and was followed by a discussion on the basic concepts of
the computer architecture, windows operating system and .NET
Framework. |
