H&R Johnson trusts .NET for
Business Intelligence
Profile
H&R Johnson (India) Limited is one of the largest manufacturers
of wall and floor tiles in India. Established in 1958, it
has a production capacity of over 15 million square meters
per year.
Customer Situation
The company thus far, used the standard reporting features
of an ERP system. However, they needed to provide users
with a cost-effective means to access data from this
system in order to gain quick insights into the business.
Keeping additional investments to a minimum, the company
wanted to leverage its current investment. |
Other
solutions that add Business Intelligence capacity
to our ERP system would have worked out to be
five times more expensive than the OSC solution.

Solution
H&R Johnson decided to implement a Business Intelligence
solution using Office XP as a Smart Client (OSC). This
decision was based on the significant relative cost
advantage over alternative approaches. The company worked
with Microsoft India and Cap Gemini Ernst and Young
India, to implement the solution. |
Benefits
H&R Johnson greatly extended the scope of information dissemination
with a minimal investment in new software.
The speed of development and ease of integration enabled
effective time-tomarket. Taking advantage of built-in tools
in Microsoft Excel, such as Pivot Table, the solution also
enhanced the flexibility of viewing data.
Over a long-term, the company is sure of the potential for
cost reduction and is projecting a decline in its expenditure,
based on the solution's capabilities. |
