Overview

BizTalk enables customers to integrate applications within and across organizations

The BizTalk server team at MSIDC owns all of BizTalk including BizTalk Server, Adapters and RFID. BizTalk Server is used to connect systems both inside and across organizations. This includes exchanging data and orchestrating business processes which require multiple systems. With over 8,000 customers, including 90 per cent of the Fortune Global 100, BizTalk Server is a trusted solution for SOA and Business Process Management. BizTalk Server includes support for Electronic Document Interchange (EDI), the single most commonly used means by which business trading partners exchange data electronically. In addition, solution accelerators for HIPAA, HL7, RosettaNet and SWIFT are included.

Adapters enable a unified service-oriented connectivity model for integrating LOB systems with Microsoft business platforms. The MSIDC group will provide a single set of adapters for Enterprise Application Integration, Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing. The base adapters for key LOB applications will be the core of an ecosystem for partners to develop adapters as well.

RFID provides a rich software platform for connected applications to integrate with physical world such as RFID devices and Sensors. The widespread adoption of this very powerful enabling technology is hindered by the costs and complexities of implementing solutions. MSIDC is building an infrastructure that will significantly reduce the complexity of implementing an RFID solution and drastically reduce the total cost of ownership.
