The MSIDC Data teams are working on challenges around reliable and cost-effective data protection and recovery, building Microsoft’s premier high-performance low-footprint embedded database engine and addressing scalable distributed caching and database manageability. The teams are also building solutions to connect systems, both inside and across organizations and developing enabling technologies that connect Microsoft Office to LOB processes and information.

BizTalk

The BizTalk team at MSIDC is building solutions to connect systems both inside and across organizations. This includes exchanging data and orchestrating business processes which require multiple systems. The team develops BizTalk Server which helps organizations create automated business processes, connect applications, Adapters that connect line of business (LOB) systems to Microsoft business platforms like SQL Server, BizTalk Server and MOSS, and RFID technology that provides an innovative device management and event processing platform at the edge of the enterprise. In addition, BizTalk includes support for Document Interchange (EDI) and accelerators to speed up deployment.

Data Lifecycle Management is a Center of Excellence at MSIDC working in the areas of Data Protection & Storage Technologies. This team has end- to-end engineering ownership of the Data Protection Manager (DPM) product and business. DPM is Microsoft’s flagship product offering which addresses an IT organization’s data protection needs.
