Product Unit Manager, Data Lifecycle Management Group - MSIDC

Sundar has worked in the software industry since 1991. He started his career as a developer building middleware for distributed systems for about 3 years & then for the next 5 years as a senior developer on the core team that built an online search service (ProQuest) over an information archive servicing large number of users . Since joining Microsoft in 1999, Sundar has been working in Server & Tools division and has shipped various products like Windows 2000 Server, Windows Services for UNIX (v2 & v3) and System Center Data Protection Manager (DPM v1 and DPM v2). As Product Unit Manager on the Storage Platforms & Solutions division in India, Sundar is responsible for building the next generation Data Lifecycle Management product.

Data Lifecycle Management is a Center of Excellence at MSIDC working in the areas of Data Protection and Storage Technologies. This team has end- to-end ownership for the Data Protection Manager (DPM) product and business. DPM is Microsoft’s flagship product offering in this space to address an IT organization’s data protection needs. DPM leverages disk to protect critical information assets for Windows Server System family of applications. The MSIDC team also owns next generation cutting edge platform storage technologies for Microsoft’s client & server operating systems.
