Mobile

The MSIDC Mobile teams are focused on key areas in the mobile knowledge worker domain – delivering great productivity applications in the form of the mobile companion to the Microsoft Office desktop suite and delivering enterprise-grade unified communications through a “single phone” solution that offers full user mobility as well as all the standard features of a desk phone. The teams are working on various initiatives to ensure the success of Microsoft mobile strategies worldwide and enabling access to Live Mesh from mobile devices.

Live Mesh

Microsoft Live Mesh takes a service-centric approach to allow users access to any data and any application, at any time and on any device. By connecting PCs and other devices to a service that acts as a "mesh" for their digital world, Live Mesh will bring life to the user’s Operating System experience. The team at MSIDC is responsible for enabling access to Live Mesh from mobile devices. This includes both WAP browser based access, as well as a richer client for mobile devices. In addition, the team also contributes to the design and development of the Developer Platform for Live Mesh.
