Microsoft India is providing a facility for customers across India to avail of free support in case they are affected by virus issues on their desktops. These numbers are active from Monday to Saturday 9.00 am to 5.30 pm. In case the numbers are busy, please email to connect@microsoft.com with “Virus support” in the subject line.

Incidents related to viruses detection :
» You think your machine has been infected by a virus.
» You need assistance to recover from a virus infection.
» You think you have found a new virus and would like to let Microsoft and the Antivirus vendors know about it.
» You would like to know how to protect your desktop machine from viruses.
» You need help to clean up your systems after they were infected by a virus.
» You receive indication from your Antivirus software notifying that it has detected a virus in your machine.
 

Incidents related to the understanding, downloading and installation of a security update:

» Security roll-up updates.

» Use of Detection and Cleaning Tools created by Microsoft and called out in Security Bulletins and Virus Alerts (such as the Blaster Cleaner Tool, MS03-026 and MS03-039 Scanner Tool, MyDoom Cleaner Tool). Click Here for more details. Some tools such as: the Microsoft Security Baseline Analyzer, Software Update Services, and Products such as ISA and SMS are not covered under this policy. These tools/products have their own support policies and should be consulted for individual support guidelines.
 

Incidents relating to E-mail Hoaxes

» Some E-mail messages can appear to come directly from Microsoft or from companies and sources that are outside Microsoft. You may inform us about any unbelievable-sounding e-mail message that you received from Microsoft. You can also verify whether a Microsoft security-related message is genuine or not  by going to the Microsoft security site at http://www.microsoft.com/security/incident/authenticate_mail.mspx.
