If you are the cool coder about town, to whom all your friends turn when they want any nifty app done, then it’s time you take a crack at something that’s more challenging.

Microsoft regularly features high-caliber contests where you can compete with the best of the lot on highly-stimulating challenges. Some examples of such contests are the Imagine Cup, IMS National Quiz and so on.

Imagine Cup 2007: One world. Unlimited possibilities.Imagine Cup
The Imagine Cup started four years ago, and already more than 100,000 students from more than 100 countries have competed. This year, more students than ever will be looking for victory in the nine competitions set up under three main categories, each reflecting this year’s theme.

Invasion of Robots Contest
Microsoft challenged developers worldwide to create conversational robots, or BOTs, for MSN® Messenger and Windows Live™. Check for yourself and vote for the most original, useful robots. The most original, useful robots will collect over $40,000 in total prizes. And the robot with the most popular votes in our Robot Gallery wins the $500 User's Choice Award.

Take a look at how the finest young brains competed to crack and develop amazing codes, and technology-based solutions to solve real world problems while still marching ahead to realize their career aspirations.

Code4bill: A first of its kind, Code4bill put contestants through a number of brain-taxing rounds over a period of seven months. More than 24,000 students from over 1,000 engineering colleges in India participated in this contest.

Imagine Cup 2006: The Imagine Cup is the world’s premier student technology competition. It focuses on innovative thinking in solving problems being faced by people the world over, by making use of Technology. The theme for Imagine Cup 2006 was “Imagine a future where technology helps people live healthier lives”.

Windows Embedded Student ChallengE: A technology competition that challenges students to design a computer-based system that will solve a real world problem while testing their developments skills against teams from around the world.
