Microsoft Students to Business is an internship initiative that is a bridging program to students, which provides them with business related training to assist them in gaining employment.

In countries with growing local software economies, a shortage of qualified technology professionals can be a frustrating challenge for Microsoft partners and a barrier to growth for the industry as a whole. As part of Microsoft's Local Software Economy (LSE) initiative, the Students to Business (S2B) program helps address this skills gap by partnering with universities and businesses to help provide students with specialized IT training and internship opportunities and match qualified job candidates with open positions at local companies. The program has three pillars:

Skill Enhancement - Ensuring that students have the skills that employers need.

Recruiting - Encouraging students to use S2B to find their first job or internship in the Microsoft ecosystem, and encouraging companies to create or fill technology positions with students identified by S2B.

Connecting - Matching students with jobs or internships at participating companies.
