Imagine Cup India Finals 07 – Announcing the Winners!
 
The Imagine Cup India Finals 07 concludes amid a roaring enthusiasm of the Student wizards at Subroto Park, New Delhi on May 4, 2007. Over 12,000 students from over 1000 colleges across India participated this year. The top 11 teams from eight different states were short listed for the India Finals. These teams showcased their software solutions to the panel comprising academicians, industry representatives, and venture capitalists.
 
Team Blue Leaf was declared the winner of India Finals. While the India winner received Rs. 1 Lakh as the prize money, it also gets the opportunity to represent India and compete with the best teams across the globe at the worldwide finals of Imagine Cup in August, 2007 at Seoul, Korea, for the total prize money of $170,000 (approximately Rs. 76,50,000).
 
Now in its fifth year, the Imagine Cup is a global contest held by Microsoft to provide student innovators to showcase their skills.
 
The theme for Imagine Cup 2007 is ‘Imagine a world where technology enables a better education for all”, through which Microsoft hopes to encourage young students to work together for a social cause and create applications that will assist in educating and enhancing the lives of millions worldwide.
 
 
 
 
Team Blue Leaf from the prestigious Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology (DAIICT), Ahmadabad bagged the first prize of Rs 1,00,000. Team Blue Leaf will now go on to compete with the best teams from across the globe at the worldwide finals of Imagine Cup in August 2007 at Seoul, Korea.
 
Team Gras from BITS Pilani, Goa Campus bagged the second prize of Rs. 75,000.
 
Team AABHA from Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Allahabad bagged the third prize of Rs. 50,000.
