    • This Program is the second phase of the “I Unlock Joy” Program and is about unlocking the talent of students in India, like you. The goal is to showcase and provide visibility to high quality Windows Phone apps created by students in India.
  • How will I benefit from participating in this Program?

  • How to go about developing a Windows Phone app? What tools can be used?
  • What are the Windows Phone app certification guidelines?
  • What is the Windows Phone Marketplace?
    • Once you’ve developed your app or game, Windows Phone Marketplace is where you can sell or give away your creation for free to the global audience of Windows Phone owners.
  • What is Windows Phone Dev Center?
    • Windows Phone Dev Center is a vibrant community of apps and game developers for Windows Phone. As part of Windows Phone Dev Center membership, you get a developer dashboard. So you can manage all aspects of how your app or game appears in Marketplace, monitor downloads, and track how much money you’ve earned if you charge for your work.
  • What happens after I submit my app on Windows Phone Dev Center? How long does the certification process take?
    • After an app is submitted on Windows Phone Dev Center, it will be tested to verify whether it adheres to the certification guidelines. If it passes certification testing, then it will be published to the Windows Phone Marketplace.

      The duration of the certification process is variable, but it usually takes around one to four weeks.
  • What is DreamSpark?
    • DreamSpark provides professional-level developer and design tools to students at no charge. These Microsoft tools will help you advance your learning and skills through technical design, technology, math, science, and engineering activities.
  • Why do I need a verified DreamSpark account to participate in this Program?
    • A verified DreamSpark account enables students to apply for free membership of Windows Phone Dev Center.
  • Where can I find the Publisher GUID?
    • Login into Windows Phone Dev Center and go to the Account summary section to find your Publisher GUID.
  • Whom should I contact in case I have some questions/ queries/ need help?
  • Can I provide details of a same app across Top Application, Early-Bird and E-Certificate categories?
    • Yes, one app can be common across all these categories if it meets the category-specific criteria.
I build amazing Windows Phone Apps

  1. Register on iunlockjoy website to participate in this campaign. (In case you do not have a DreamSpark
    Key then select ‘No’ in the question: Do you have a DreamSpark Key to register on Windows Phone
    Dev Center?)
  2. Register on Windows Phone Dev Center thru DreamSpark.
  3. Get Windows Phone SDK.
  4. Build Windows Phone Applications.
  5. Get the Windows Phone Applications certified.
  6. Publish them on the Marketplace by 30th November, 2012
  7. Fill in the Claim Goodies Form by 30th November, 2012 under the appropriate category in which you want to participate.

For Building Windows Phone Applications

You can participate in this campaign under three categories: Top Quality Application Category, Early Bird Category and E- Certificate Category.

  • You are eligible to participate if
    • You are 18 years of age or older; and
    • You have been actively enrolled as a student at an accredited educational institution that grants high-school or college/university (or equivalent) degrees for at least 3 months between 1st January, 2012 and 31st October, 2012
    • You are not an employee or intern of Microsoft Corporation (India) Pvt. Ltd. or Microsoft Corporation, or any of their affiliates; and
    • You are not involved in any part of the execution or administration of this campaign; and
    • You are not an immediate family member of (parent, sibling, spouse, child) or household member of a Microsoft employee, an employee of a Microsoft affiliate, or a person involved in any part of the administration and execution of this campaign.
    • You are a registered member of Microsoft DreamSpark campaign for students.
  • Your app submission is valid only if
    • You have filled up the Registration Form posted in this website with all the required information.
    • Your app is submitted on Windows Phone Dev Center
    • Your app gets certified on Windows Phone Dev Center and published on Windows Phone Marketplace before 30th November 2012

    • Submit Claim Goodies Form by 30th November, 2012 to participate in this campaign under the relevant category.
