| MumbaiITPro user group organized The New Efficiency Community Launch on 26th January, 2010 (Republic Day). The event witnessed participation from over 200 people and was a unique celebration. The 2 new innovative inclusions in the event that stole the whole show was the Panel Discussion with Industry Experts and the Unconference. An inclusive event with the best speakers, trainers and experts in the industry. The day started with the National Anthem followed by a panel discussion with industry experts like Rakesh Goyal, M D Agarwal, Sanjay Shetty, and was moderated by Gunjan Trivedi, Executive Editor of Computer World. The discussion was on the most happening industry trends for year 2010, and success tips for the IT Managers and IT Professionals. The audience also got the best opportunity to interact and learn what’s in store for them and where & how they should focus. It was then followed by the regular sessions on The New Efficiency products. There was no formal Windows 7 session; however the volunteers were around with the laptops deployed with Windows 7 for demonstrations. The final 1 ½ hour of the day we had the unconference sessions which was the major attraction. It was amazing to have 7 speakers participating at the unconference and doing a rapid back to back demo shoot outs on various tools and provide tips on Windows 7. It was a complete team effort and we congratulate all the volunteers for the wonderful work they have done to make this event a big success. A special thanks to the audience for sparing one entire day being a Republic Day and sticking on while actively participating till the end. Overall everyone had a great time and the complete format of the event was well received. It all was clearly visible through the feedbacks we received from the attendees stating – “A Day well spent”. |

| Few reasons for a major successful event are as follows:- |
The format of the event was balanced between both technical and non-technical sessions. |
Interaction with the industry experts and training on upcoming trends |
Unconference sessions opened up an opportunity for new and wannabe speakers |
A new punch of comic speech by a volunteer Mohammed on “10 commandments for Public Speaking” was a twist that added a dash of fun. |

MumbaiITPro user group announced Zoheb Ainapore as the community champ of the month for all his best online contribution on the MumbaiITPro forums, and Hariprasad Maurya as the Blogger for the month for all his blogging contributions for MumbaiITPro on his blog TechSurface.
At the end, no matter how actively we participate voluntarily, an event would never be complete unless there is a backing force to show the trust and confidence. Microsoft fills this gap and we owe all credits to the team at Microsoft for their support that they have provided to MumbaiITPro user group.
If you want to volunteer, feel free to participate actively on www.mumbaiitpro.org and email info [at] mumbaiitpro.org for any further details. |
