PT Pertamina (Persero), Indonesia’s state-owned oil and gas company, has always strived to stay at the leading edge of technology including IT. In 2007, it was committed to deploying thousands of licenses for Microsoft® Office® 2007 Clients across the enterprise. However, as the year neared its end, only a fraction of the seats were rolled out while most users were still using Microsoft® Office® 2003. The main challenge faced by Pertamina was the large number of ongoing IT projects that absorbed a lot of its resources. Microsoft Indonesia, with the full backup from Microsoft Corporation, worked with its local partners to help customers such as Pertamina get on their feet quickly with 2007 Microsoft® Office® System to ensure that they would derive the full value of their investments.
