BRI increases efficiency of micro credit business process by implementing AcquireFlow module to complement loan approval system BRI capability. The module built on Excel 2007 basis by Vaia. The solution could improve account officer productivity, optimized technology investment utilization, and enhance BRI customer satisfaction.
By using AcquireFlow, BRI account officer can work anywhere, not only online but also offline, and has more time to do the monitoring and supervision process in order to compress non-performing loan number. PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia Tbk (BRI) is a bank that established since 1895. Situation
According to its mission, one of BRI's main services is micro credit. In this sector, BRI faces competition which becomes sharper, as other national and foreign banks enter the sector. To upgrade the competitive ability, BRI needs technology solution which is able to accelerate credit approval process. This can be done by implementing technology that can improve an account officer efficiency and productivity. So far, the approval credit process relatively takes more time because the process had to be done manually, from desk to desk.
By manual system, the time wasted for administrative tasks, such as document preparation. As a consequence, an account officer doesn't have much time to do the monitoring and supervision process that being used to minimize non-performing loan. In order to control non-performing loan, BRI needs loan approval system solution which is able to keep the credit formula integrity. It means, there's no credit approval unless it meets the requirement according to the existing formula.
In order to boost up the distribution of public economy development, BRI must be able to operate in every area. This demand triggers a challenge which caused by less distribution of internet infrastructure in Indonesia. That's why, BRI needs solution to add function toward the existing loan approval system, so that the bandwidth can be skimped. The key is, this solution must enable an account officer to work online and offline. If the system is in offline mode, an account officer must be able to keep working, by entering data, so that the productivity still can be watched over.
To make account officer become more productive, they must be able to enter the data wherever they are, including when they are out of office. Such as, when they are at customer's place, home, or even at the mall where the BRI's marketing program is being held.
To accelerate deployment, loan approval system solution has to be easy to used. With the friendly-user technology, BRI is able to cut the time needed to hold training for end-user.
Solution
PT Vaia Indonesia answers this challenge by building added module to complement the existing BRI loan approval system application. The module named AcquireFlow and built with Office Business Application platform basis, especially Excel 2007.
By utilizing OBA, Vaia is able to built AcquireFlow three times faster than built Web-based application. It caused by Vaia didn't have to build everything from the beginning, but only to utilize the existing function in Excel 2007. By using Excel 2007 platform to build AcquireFlow, it is also to increase the ease of application used by end-user. To operate AcquireFlow, end-user didn't have to join training in a long time because AcquireFlow has the same interface as Excel 2007 which has already recognized by computer users.
By OBA, company can also enjoy the new functions from the technology that has already owned by them, that is Office 2007. Company can accelerate return on investment from the technology by increasing the uses of Office 2007.

AcquireFlow is one of Vaia's innovation solutions, that is a kind of Loan Origination system which has offline function and accelerate input process and data complement, decision making (scoring/ making), validation/ verification and reporting/ analysis. This system is using strategic/ business rule application, so that the right decision can be applied consistently all over company. This can be integrated with core system and connected to credit bureau, and black list debtor with templates of consumer credit and micro which can be adjusted with client need.
AcquireFlow is an Office Business Application (OBA) which runs in Excel 2007, and developed by using Microsoft.NET Framework 3.5 and Visua Studio Tools for Office (VSTO), so it will give user an interface/ recognized navigation, offline and online operational with centralized control, which means increasing of productivity, lower risk and operational cost saving. Enterprisingly use, Microsoft SQL Server 2008 and BizTalk 2006 are being utilized to provide data storage and connection with core systems, credit bureau, and debtor.
