Janssen Cilag is a sister company of Johnson & Johnson, the global pharmaceutical and healthcare company the name of which is a household brand to millions of families around the world. In 1994, the company began using a Clipper-based accounting system that it had developed on its own. Ten years later, the system no longer had the horsepower and flexibility to support its business activities. More reports had to be added, while the level of risk was quite high as the company was so dependent on the internal IT staff to maintain the system.
