Setting the stage for the various tracks taking place at Heroes Happen Here, the hour-long keynote address focuses on Microsoft’s company-wide initiative, dynamic IT, and how it can help IT Pros and Developers become heroes to their business by bridging people, processes, and technology. Over 4 different launch scenarios, you’ll see how the first major wave of innovation – Windows Server 2008, SQL Server 2008, and Visual Studio 2008 – delivers on the longer-term vision of dynamic IT, through solutions like an enhanced Secure and Trusted Platform; Virtualization; Next-Generation Web; and Business Intelligence.

From the analysis to the deployment of Windows Server 2008, SQL Server 2008 and Visual Studio 2008, this Technical Readiness track will help you prepare for the change inherent in adopting the new technologies. Over three sessions, you’ll be the main actor in training yourself, providing feedback and ensuring the best choice for your business. by focusing on the highest impact features that you could take advantage of today, including new application development and debugging processes; Windows Presentation Foundation designer; and, new LINQ extensions for SQL Server and XML in C# and Visual Basic.

The purpose of this Technical Readiness tour is to arm you with the information you need to understand and communicate the benefits of Windows Server 2008, SQL Server 2008, and Visual Studio 2008 in order to help solve challenges you are facing today. Plus, you’ll learn how to implement these solutions with minimal impact to your existing environment. Over three sessions, you’ll learn about common scenarios facing IT Pros as they adopt the new technologies, including implementing new features like network access protection of Windows Server 2008, Server Core and Read Only Domain Controllers and implementing server consolidation through new Virtualization features.

Occurring dynamically from two different stages with four different presenters, this high energy 90 minute session is intended to help IT Managers understand how infrastructure optimization can be leveraged to help with cost savings, IT efficiencies and skills utilization. Using real Canadian customer scenarios and demonstrations by technology partners such as Dell, AMD, HP and Microsoft you’ll learn how Microsoft Windows Server 2008 enables your organization to achieve Branch Office Optimization, Virtualization, Disaster Recovery and Availability and Data Center Transformation.

The Architect track focuses on how Visual Studio 2008, Windows Server 2008 and SQL Server 2008 can help you focus on resolving business problems by providing out-of-the-box functionalities and customizable processes that facilitate effectiveness through reuse, scalability, reliability and extensibility. You’ll also hear from organisations that have already utilized these products and have begun to realize some of the benefits.
