Tell your friends and fellow developers about your application in your blog or through Twitter using #AzureApps as your hashtag, and remind them to come back to vote, too.

One (1) First Prize. A check and/or electronic fund transfer to the winning partner company for $10,000 USD.
One (1) Second Prize. A check and/or electronic fund transfer to the winning partner company for $5,000 USD.
One (1) Third Prize. A check and/or electronic fund transfer to the winning partner company for $2,500 USD.
Bonus Award: In addition to the winner selection process listed above, a panel of Microsoft judges will also select one (1) recipient of a "bonus award" based on the best use and inclusion of Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online and/or Microsoft Business Productivity Online Suite (BPOS). This winning entry will receive the following prize:
One (1) Bonus Award Prize. A check and/or electronic fund transfer to the winning partner company for $2,500 USD.

Easy to enter
- Register by providing your contact information and answering a few questions about your application.
- Upload your finished application to the Windows Azure platform.
- Send a confirmation e-mail message to uspubsec@microsoft.com. Include the following information in your message:
- Your name.
- The name of your application.
- The name of the partner organization you work for.
- The unique URL for your application, which you created in step 2.
- A description of your application (75 words or less).
- A demo script for your finished application.
Your application will be posted on this site.
We will only accept one (1) entry per person.
Notice to Government Employees: Microsoft is committed to complying with government gift and ethics rules and therefore government employees are not eligible.
Contest details
This contest begins November 16, 2009, and ends on February 5, 2010.
- Application must be coded and deployed on Windows Azure.
- Application must take advantage of at least two of the following features of the Azure platform: Azure Web Role, Azure Worker Role, Azure Storage Service, SQL Azure database.
- Application must be commercially viable meaning that it should address a real customer or market need.
- Application must be accompanied by a marketing summary of the solution (minimum of 75 words, not to exceed 500 words).

Judging
The Azure applications will be judged by three groups:
- Customers and interested individuals (via online voting)
- State and Local Government Leader Panel
- Microsoft Corporation, State and Local Government Panel
Industry panelists and Microsoft panelists will review entries against the following equally weighted criteria:
- The application meets a state and local government business need.
- The application and demo script are written and organized well.
- The user interface is intuitive.
Judging will take place from February 6 to February 19, 2010.
