Microsoft's Knowledge Driven solutions for Health Payers equip people with familiar, intuitive tools that make it faster and easier to make informed decisions, collaborate, innovate, and contribute to the bottom line.

Business intelligence

Through extension of existing data sources and/or data warehouse resources Microsoft and our partners extend the SQL Server and Performance Point environments to incorporate a "self-service" business intelligence environment. These extended environments range from simple SQL Analysis Services-enabled Excel applications to full point and click employer reporting hosted solutions.

Claims over/under payment

Microsoft and our partners offer a claims overpayment discovery and recovery solution that scores, sorts, and prioritizes large volumes of insurance claims each month. This highly configurable and extensible solution is essentially free of custom code.

Connected Health Framework for Health Plans

This reference services-oriented architecture provides a focus on line-of-business service domains that give health plans an incremental Web services and Enterprise Service Bus Service Oriented Architecture strategy to retool a teeming portfolio of legacy IT systems.

Consumer Engagement Reference Architecture (CERA)

CERA is an interoperable and optimized reference architecture that enables health plans to keep consumers engaged in managing their health, health information, and health risks over their lifetimes while enabling seamless information exchange among hundreds of different health services and devices.

Forms automation

This scalable, standards-based electronic forms solution can help health plans promote collaboration, capture and reuse information efficiently, and extend the reach of forms-driven business processes to employees, consumers, providers, brokers, and employers with a browser.

HIPAA 5010 compliance

Effectively using information technology to reduce cost and eliminate complexity is a focus of health care reform. New U.S. government mandates are an opportunity to drive down cost while improving the quality of health care delivery using the richer data set inherent in the International Classification of Diseases (ICD-10) mandated for use in 2013. Further complicating the federal mandates is the fact that before ICD-10 can be put into production, the switch from HIPAA 4010A1 to HIPAA 5010 must be in place. Microsoft’s BizTalk Server 2009, coupled with other platform technologies such as Microsoft SQL Server 2008 and Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007, enable health organizations to simplify their solution infrastructure and reduce costs while meeting government mandates for HIPAA 5010 and ICD-10.

Office Business Applications

Microsoft Office Business Applications (OBAs) bridge existing line of business systems using the familiar Microsoft Office interface that your people already know. OBAs enable businesses to unlock the value of their current back-end systems by extending the Microsoft Office client or Web parts into business processes in line of business applications such as enterprise resource planning, CRM, care management, and core administrative systems.

RFP automation

Microsoft's RFP automation solutions easily and reliably automate the RFP and proposal workflow from request or RFP receipt to delivery back to the customer by integrating the Office System with current systems.

Tellme Services

Tellme's powerful on-demand voice services platform gives health plans the ability to effectively communicate with their members, create excellent customer experiences, and deliver on their brand promise on every phone call. With continually improved speech recognition and compelling application designs, Tellme also helps health plans drive higher automation and task completion rates -- creating cost savings in the contact center.
