Healthcare and life sciences resources for partner opportunities

Thank you for your interest in partner opportunities with Microsoft. We sincerely appreciate your use of Microsoft enabling technologies in developing your healthcare line-of-business applications.

To assist you in your efforts, the following resources are available to your organization.

Microsoft Healthcare and Life Sciences Solutions Directory

We recommend listing your company in the Microsoft Healthcare and Life Sciences Solutions Directory, a comprehensive listing of healthcare and life sciences applications built on Microsoft technologies. We are no longer accepting entries for the print edition of the 2006 Solutions Directory (distributed in February 2006). However, we are accepting new entries for the online 2006 Solutions Directory. To list your solutions in the online 2006 Microsoft Healthcare and Life Sciences Solutions Directory, please complete the requested company profile questionnaire.

Partner engagement criteria

Microsoft receives a considerable number of partnering inquiries on an ongoing basis. And, unfortunately, we are unable to manage all partners. The criteria that follows has been established to help us identify partners who are truly committed to Microsoft technologies and who align with our industry strategies. Partners who meet the following criteria will be considered potential managed partners. If you believe you meet this criteria, please let us know. Otherwise, we hope sharing this information gives you some objectives should you want to become a managed partner in the future.

The partner must:

Be a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner

Have an active Microsoft Services Partner Advantage agreement

Influence $5 million US or more in revenue per year

Sell a minimum of four Microsoft products

Offer a solution for an Industry Priority Solution Scenario (IPSS). We will provide information about our IPSSs upon request to health@microsoft.com. (Please specify what vertical segment you are interested in: Provider, health plan, or pharmaceutical)

Note: Even if you are not able to meet all of these requirements, we strongly encourage you to become a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner so that you are eligible for all benefits available for that level of commitment. All U.S. Certified and Gold Certified Partners have access to the Partner Resource Desk, which provides information on demand by assisting with questions.

Opportunity engagement details

The Microsoft Healthcare and Life Sciences group manages 571 enterprise customers in the United States. We will provide a list of our vertically managed customers upon request to health@microsoft.com. All other healthcare and life sciences customers are managed either by our subsidiary offices or by our telesales department.

If your company is currently engaged (or becomes engaged) in an opportunity with a healthcare and life sciences customer, and you want Microsoft support, please send an e-mail message to health@microsoft.com. We will forward the details to the appropriate Microsoft account manager.

Please include the following information in your e-mail request:

Details about the opportunity (for example, Microsoft products involved, revenue estimate, opportunity status, and estimated close date)

Type of support requested (for example, contact introduction or product/technology support)

Complete partner contact information (including company name, contact name, mailing address, phone number, and e-mail address)

Customer name, city, and state

Note: While we can commit to forwarding opportunity details to the appropriate Microsoft account manager, we cannot guarantee engagement by the manager.

Microsoft Healthcare Users Group (MS-HUG)

The Microsoft Healthcare Users Group (MS-HUG) membership community is part of the HIMSS Users Group Alliance Program. The MS-HUG mission is to be the healthcare industry forum for exchanging ideas, promoting learning, and sharing solutions for information systems using Microsoft technologies. MS-HUG is not affiliated with Microsoft Corporation. MS-HUG is an independent, not-for-profit organization catering to the needs of information systems developers and users in the healthcare industry. Visit the MS-HUG Web site for more information and to join.

Microsoft partner networking

If you are interested in meeting other Microsoft partners, consider attending one of our partner channel builder industry events networking sessions. These events are excellent opportunities for Microsoft partners to build connections with other partners in the healthcare and life sciences industries. Please visit the Partner Channel Builder Industry Events Web site for details about upcoming industry networking opportunities.
