Microsoft Surface is making waves in healthcare by changing how doctors and patients communicate. With this tabletop touch-screen application, medical professionals can now use a variety of media elements to demonstrate and explain complex medical procedures or conditions to their patients.

Ferdinand T. Velasco, M.D., is chief medical information officer for Texas Health Resources (THR). He is the physician champion for THR's medical informatics initiatives and has operational responsibility over the physician engagement and clinical decision support groups. He also cochairs the executive steering committee, which oversees the implementation of electronic health records at THR.

Rahim Daya is a senior member of the Surface Envisioning team, the Surface design and development unit at Infusion Development Corporation, a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner. Mr. Daya is responsible for introducing customers to the Surface platform and helping them develop innovative and effective Surface solutions. Over the past year, he has driven several Surface implementations in the healthcare, hospitality, sales, and entertainment spaces.

Randy Fusco is the chief technology officer for Microsoft's U.S. Healthcare Providers Industry group. In this role, he is responsible for working with customers, partners, and Microsoft product teams to drive innovation and set technical strategy. Mr. Fusco's experience includes more than 18 years of healthcare IT leadership, gained through direct patient care, technology, and executive management roles. Prior to joining Microsoft, he served as vice president and chief technology officer for Baylor Health Care System.

Matt Champagne is the director of product management for Microsoft Surface at Microsoft Corporation. He is responsible for business planning and strategy, product planning, channel development, services, and business management for Microsoft Surface.
