CONNECTED HEALTH PLATFORM GUIDANCE OVERVIEW

The Connected Health Platform is the Microsoft technology offering of tools, solution accelerators, and prescriptive architecture, design, and deployment guidance for e-Health solutions built on the open extensible and agile principles of the Microsoft Connected Health Framework – Architecture and Design Blueprint.

The aim of the Microsoft Connected Health Platform optimization guidance is to provide healthcare-specific guidance and tools to help healthcare organizations configure a standard desktop and server infrastructure that is easy to manage, and to provide tools to aid the end user in their day-to-day tasks.

Business Value

The Business Value documents show how following the guidance has enabled healthcare organizations to increase their infrastructure maturity and save time and money.

Desktop

These tools and guidance provide a proven process for deploying and managing client PCs in a healthcare organization, building on the Microsoft Deployment Toolkit 2008.

Knowledge Worker

The aim of these tools is to enable improved personal and team productivity and effective decision making by connecting the healthcare worker with people, processes, information and expertise.

Office

The aim of these tools is to enable improved personal and team productivity and effective decision making by connecting the healthcare worker with people, processes, information and expertise.

Security

Authentication of users, encryption of data and protection against malware (for example viruses, spyware, rootkits, worms) all combine to provide a more secure and more mature healthcare infrastructure.

Server Build

These guides enable healthcare organizations to deploy physical and virtualized server platforms in a consistent and repeatable fashion, the uses of which include document management and collaboration platforms for knowledge workers.

Systems Management

The aim of the systems management guidance is to reduce the ongoing costs of desktop management, software installation and software update management (including antivirus signature updates).
