Government and Education Customers. Microsoft intends that the use of this product comply with applicable federal, state, and local government gift and ethics rules. If you are a government employee (including an employee of a public education institution), this product may be used for evaluation purposes only, solely for the benefit of your agency/institution, and not for the personal use or benefit of any individual. You should consult with your agency/institution counsel or ethics officer prior to use of this product. You may return this product to Microsoft at its expense.

If you are a government employee (including an employee of a public education institution), these services may be used for evaluation purposes only, solely for the benefit of your agency/institution, and not for the personal use or benefit of any individual. You should consult with your agency/institution counsel or ethics officer prior to use of these services.
Do you qualify as a government or education customer?
The following qualification requirements apply to government and education customers who are located or reside in the United States only (not including U.S. territories such as Puerto Rico, Guam, and the Virgin Islands).
Government customers
A government customer is (i) any bureau, office, agency, or department of the U.S. government; (ii) any government agency, department, instrumentality, division, unit, or other office of a U.S. State or an entity that is supervised by or is part of a U.S. state; or (iii) any county, borough, commonwealth, city, municipality, town, township, special purpose district, or other similar type of governmental instrumentality established by the laws of a U.S. state and located within the state's jurisdiction and geographic boundaries; and any other entity in a U.S. state expressly authorized by the laws of such state to purchase under state contracts. Microsoft shall, at its sole and exclusive discretion, resolve any questions as to an entity's government customer eligibility.
Education customers
All Microsoft eligible education customers must be located or reside in the United States. Qualified educational users are those entities that both have an educational purpose or mission and meet the criteria specified below. If a controversy exists as to an organization's eligibility, Microsoft retains the right to determine at its sole discretion the eligibility of the organization for the specific transaction in question. The following entities are eligible to acquire Microsoft Academic Edition (AE) products through the programs indicated within the Microsoft qualified educational user definition: Educational institutions, administrative offices or boards of education, full-time and part-time faculty and staff, full-time and part-time enrolled students, public libraries, public museums, and home school programs.
