Improve Efficiency and Effectiveness

Governments and taxpayers are demanding greater capabilities and more transparency from revenue systems technology. At the same time, governments are asking revenue authorities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of their operations-to cut the cost of revenue collection and improve reporting practices-even with reduced funding. Revenue collection solutions need to provide a platform for future development that allows quick response to changing requirements.

Situation

Government revenue collection is often performed on archaic systems that fail to provide real-time, secure, two-way communications between taxpayers and revenue agencies. In the Internet age, taxpayers expect to locate their current tax status on an easily accessible Web site where questions can be asked and answered. Governments also expect that changes in tax laws and their administration happen quickly and efficiently in line with shifting fiscal priorities.

Solutions

The Accenture Enterprise Revenue Solution (A-ERS) was developed in partnership by Microsoft®, Accenture®, and Avanade® to integrate Microsoft products with popular Accenture accounting tools using a service-oriented architecture operating on the standard SAP platform. Products include:

Microsoft BizTalk® Server 2006—manages form processing and service-oriented architecture orchestration.

Microsoft SQL Server 2005—offers transparent reporting and analytics and can share data online via Microsoft Office SharePoint Server.

Microsoft Visual Studio® 2005—provides forms and database management tools.
