Aqua Connect: Microsoft Open Protocols Decrease Solution Deployment Time (.pdf)
Aqua Connect is a leading provider of Macintosh® terminal server software. As part of its development of a Mac terminal server, Aqua Connect obtained a license from Microsoft for the Remote Desktop Protocol and, by accessing Microsoft’s protocols specifications, reduced their compatibility issues with RDP devices currently available. More than 800 volunteers gathered for a demonstration to explore how military, humanitarian, local government, and private organizations work together during man-made or natural disasters. Using available technologies from Microsoft, the Strong Angel III team was able to easily communicate, collaborate, and share information across geographic, technical, and environmental boundaries by building bridges among applications and operating systems.

KLA-Tencor Links Java and .NET, Saves U.S. $1.6 Million (.pdf)
KLA-Tencor recently sought to migrate from Java to Microsoft® .NET, but it had thousands of lines of code that would have to be rewritten at a high cost. The company engaged JNBridge, a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner that offers development tools allowing interoperability among different platforms, to deploy a solution that allowed the company to access larger amounts of data across the Java and the .NET boundary and boost its performance. This solution reduced development time and the risk of rewriting and converting the existing code base, a cost savings of $1.6 million.
