Meet Isabela
Citizens benefit from open, interoperable environments every day. Take Isabela. See how interoperable technology affects her work, family, and community.
Being green is more than Isabela's job. It's also her passion. After a long day of research, Isabela blogs about her new "green" house on Wordpress—which runs many interoperable technologies to serve over 200 million users.
Isabela orders dinner online from Domino's Pizza and settles in to watch the World Cup. Although it's a busy day for Domino's, her pizza arrives on time. Because of Domino's open data center environment and Windows Azure platform, they can manage the high volume of orders.
While at her son's football match, Isabela can check her Microsoft Exchange e–mail on her iPhone. All because Apple leverages Microsoft ActiveSync technology.
Isabela uses her Citizen Card to change her address. Even though the card has to authenticate her identity across several government systems and platforms, the address change happens seamlessly.
Her environmental research is never done. Isabela logs onto Eye on Earth—a single service that provides real–time environmental information to 500 million people in 32 countries.
After she's collected all her data, Isabela shares it with her fellow researchers by uploading it to a shared database. Thanks to a Unified Access Control (UAC) solution, the right people can access the right information.
At home, Isabela goes to her University's SharePoint Portal to work in her Microsoft Excel document and pull in research data from other databases. It all works thanks to collaborations between Microsoft, IBM, Oracle, and other industry leaders.
