This award is recognition of the importance Microsoft Ireland has placed on its people for the past 24 years – developing people, growing people and investing in people in Ireland. It’s the views of the employees that count when deciding if a company will make the Irish top 50 list. As such, a random selection of employees in Microsoft Ireland were asked to complete a confidential questionnaire, rating Microsoft on almost 60 elements, covering credibility, respect, fairness, pride and camaraderie. Based on the top rankings in many countries (Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden) Microsoft has won this award for the second time in a row at a European level, beating competitors like Google and Cisco. For the last 6 years Microsoft has consistently featured in the Top 10 of the Annual 100 Best Workplace Awards, an award in which more than 1,000 companies across Europe participate. Microsoft Ireland also won an award for our demonstrated best practice in the area of “Retention and Well Being”. The O2 Ability Awards celebrate organizations who are successfully working with people with disabilities. By winning this Leadership award we have been recognized as an organization who have an open and inclusive culture, who demonstrate a commitment to disability and who have a diversity and inclusion strategy which is inclusive of disability.
