On February the 25th Microsoft Ireland was voted the BEST Workplace in Ireland. We also won the size category for companies with over 1,000 employees. This award is recognition of the importance Microsoft Ireland has placed on its people for the past 24 years – developing people, growing people and investing in people in Ireland. The Best Workplace study sets out to identify and recognise the best employers and most satisfied employees in Ireland. It is the views of the employees that count when deciding if a company will make the Irish top 50 list. As such, a random selection of employees in Microsoft Ireland were asked to complete a confidential questionnaire, rating Microsoft on almost 60 elements, covering credibility, respect, fairness, pride and camaraderie. 
Along with the survey results, Microsoft Ireland submitted a Culture Audit which was a 76 page document answering 14 questions covering our values, culture, communications, citizenship and morale.  This year, to accompany the document, Microsoft Ireland decided on an innovative way to communicate why Microsoft Ireland is the Best Workplace using our people and our technology.  We asked our employee’s to tell their Microsoft story.
We asked everyone to submit a 1-2 minute video telling us why they like working in Microsoft Ireland, what is unique about working here, why Microsoft Ireland is a fun place to work, what our culture is like and so on.





The Great Place to Work Institute, who manage the Best Workplace competition felt our myStory video was a testament to the pride and loyalty our employee’s have for Microsoft.  They felt that our sense of fun really came through very clearly on the video while our culture of trust and innovation was very apparent in both the video and our Culture Audit.
This fantastic achievement is down to each and every one of our employee’s for their commitment, dedication and pride in this company.  The combination of having a culture of innovation and the best people is what makes this business as successful as it is; a place where we can do our best work, innovate, continue to learn and be challenged in delivering excellent business results for the company, which marks us out from the rest.
