In May 2008, Microsoft and Micro Focus signed a strategic partnership agreement, focused on providing our customers with the highest level of integration with the .NET and Windows applications platforms for managing and modernizing mainframe applications.
In July 2009, Micro Focus announced the availability of an integrated product suite for the migration, development, testing, and deployment of mission-critical Mainframe COBOL-based applications to the Windows platform. This announcement extends its Windows-based portfolio, providing a superior customer experience for the extension and modernization of COBOL applications.
The partnership between Microsoft and Micro Focus offers customers an alternative platform strategy for enterprises to maximize the value of their enterprise COBOL applications and legacy systems, as well as accelerate sales and development initiatives, providing customers greater choice and agility for mainframe applications.
