Stig's Corner

Dear partners,

As I write this, 25 Microsoft partners are attending a full-day workshop in Redmond on building OBAs to extend SAP and Oracle. I just returned from the lab, and the buzz and excitement in there are fantastic! This is the first time Microsoft has put on an OBA workshop specifically targeted at SAP and Oracle integration, and the overwhelming interest is telling me that we are onto something. Another indication of OBA momentum is that we now have more than 250 ISV solutions profiled on OBA Central. Make sure your OBA is up there as well.

The list of OBA evidence is also growing. On www.microsoft.com/casestudies, you'll find 45 pieces of OBA evidence. If you have a customer with a compelling OBA story, Microsoft wants to tell it. Please get in touch with me to get the ball rolling.

On the topic of compelling stories, make sure you watch our new video on IdeaBlade and MediSolution. This is a great example of how .NET cuts development time and enhances customer satisfaction -- in the Oracle space. Keep in mind that the product that makes this possible (DevForce by IdeaBlade) is available to you as Microsoft partners on very favorable terms. Read here for more information.

The programs we launched in 2007 will stay in place for 2008. You'll see increased focus on a few areas, namely, lead generation for solutions that integrate with Oracle applications, promotion of ISVs to the internal Microsoft sales force, and webcasts for ISVs.

Thank you for your support in 2007. On behalf of your entire Microsoft team, I send you the best wishes for the upcoming holidays and for 2008.

Best regards,
Stig
