Microsoft Partner Solutions for Oracle News Update

Dear Partners,

Welcome to another issue of the News Update for Microsoft partners who extend Oracle applications. This issue features the Microsoft sponsorship of Collaborate 07 (Quest, IOUG, and AOUG’s joint Oracle User conference). In addition to hosting a booth (featuring ISVs), offering sessions, and sponsoring customer and partner meetings, Microsoft held a Partner Advisory Council (PAC) meeting. The PAC was an especially important event for our ISV community. This was the first time Microsoft brought together partners focused on the Oracle space, and it yielded tremendous value for Microsoft in terms of driving feedback from partners on what our priorities should be moving forward. As partners, you should consider the PAC your voice back to Microsoft. We will have PAC meetings twice a year moving forward. If you would like to join future PAC meetings, please send an email message to stigp@microsoft.com.

Best regards,
Stig

Microsoft Technology Consortium of Oracle Application Customers:
Microsoft hosted the first in-person meeting for the technology consortium at COLLABORATE 2007. More than thirty customers from several corporations participated in this interactive session. The consortium was updated on the new Oracle Applications releases and certifications, performance improvements, and support information for the Microsoft platform and SQL Server 2005. Also discussed were the major areas Microsoft plans to invest in to better enable the consortium and user groups.

At COLLABORATE 2007, Microsoft announced the O2OBA Challenge. Customers can create an Office Business Application (OBA) using the complementary technologies of the 2007 Microsoft Office system and Oracle Applications. The company that builds the best solution wins $25,000 to implement the OBA, and Microsoft will donate $40,000 in the winning company’s name to a clean-air cause. This challenge is for customers rather than partners, so think of the great companies you work with and make sure they don’t miss their chance to get started today.

Limited Time: View IOUG, OAUG, and Quest Forum Presentations
