Positioning BizTalk Adapter Pack over Previous BizTalk Server Adapters and over Previous ADO.NET Providers
|
Microsoft delivers software solutions to enable a flexible integration and application infrastructure. The area of integration is of particular importance and relevance today. Typically connecting to heterogeneous and Line of Business (LOB) systems has become an important task for many customers. As a result this most often increased development costs and application complexity. In this document we give an overview of the various integration components. The objective is to explain a unified and open approach on the technology of Microsoft Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) programming model.

Reliable Messaging between SAP XI 3.0 and Microsoft BizTalk Server 2004 Using SOAP Compliant Communication
|
Reliable Messaging is critical for Web services. Many business problems require that the participants can be sure of the
completion of message exchanges. Synchronous communication is not always an option due to its limitations concerning availability of the
participants and performance issues. Reliable Messaging is therefore a key feature needed for asynchronous communication using web services. In
May 2004 SAP and Microsoft announced to work on interoperability between SAP NetWeaver and Microsoft .NET based on advanced web services which will allow
amongst others Reliable Messaging and an adapter less integration between Microsoft BizTalk and SAP XI infrastructure. These features will be available
with the upcoming major releases of SAP NetWeaver and Microsoft .NET. However customers are requesting a solution based on existing technologies. Therefore,
this whitepaper outlines how Reliable Messaging using SOAP compliant communication between SAP XI 3.0 and Microsoft BizTalk Server 2004 can be
achieved that fulfils the Quality of Service exactly once leveraging features and functions of the existing products.

IDoc-based Adapterless Communication between SAP NetWeaver Application Server and Microsoft BizTalk Server
|
This white paper demonstrates how to integrate Microsoft BizTalk Server and SAP NetWeaver Application Server without using additional adapters. Microsoft BizTalk Server uses the HTTP IDoc XML Interface SAP NetWeaver Application Server offers for sending and retrieving IDocs in XML format. The paper contains a walk-through for setting up the SAP NetWeaver Application Server to enable them to post and retrieve IDocs in XML. |

Microsoft BizTalk Server 2004 - SAP XI 3.0 Interoperability
|
This white paper provides a concept on how to integrate Microsoft BizTalk Server 2004 and SAP XI based upon a scenario of both
integration platforms acting as cooperating systems and integrating different parts of the application landscape. The white paper combines conceptional
work on a double-hub integration architecture and practical experiences from existing projects. A double-hub integration architecture consisting of
Microsoft BizTalk Server 2004 and SAP XI 3.0 encapsulates all SAP centric integration scenarios and interfaces within the XI hub and all other
scenarios within the BizTalk hub. To achieve a seamless and comprehensive connection between those two hubs several aspects regarding the different
integration layers have to be considered. The white paper covers all relevant aspects required to establish integration at transport, messaging,
process management and monitoring layer. At the transport and messaging layer, practical walkthroughs demonstrate the steps necessary to connect SAP XI
and BizTalk using the existing mechanisms and adapters. In order to provide a blue print for real-life scenarios the tradeoff between Web Services and conventional RFC/IDoc is discussed.
