Single Sign-On to a Microsoft Exchange Cluster
Users of the SAP NetWeaver Portal can take advantage of Single Sign-On to Web based Microsoft backend systems such as Outlook Web Access using SAP’s SSO22KerbMap Module. With Exchange 2007 Microsoft introduces different server roles that enable administrators to easily choose which features are installed on an Exchange server. One of these roles is the Client Access server role that provides access to Microsoft Office Outlook Web Access. In Exchange 2007, Client Access servers support Integrated Windows Authentication for Exchange 2007 virtual directories. As a result the SSO22KerbMap Module can now be installed on a Client Access server rather than on a backend server which was necessary if the filter is used in an Exchange 2003 environment. Exchange 2007 now also offers the possibility to cluster mailboxes, a feature that will likely find a large adoption. We thus investigated a setup that consists out of a Client Access Server and CCR cluster (Cluster Continuous Replication).

How to Integrate Microsoft Exchange Server into SAP Enterprise Portal
This whitepaper describes how Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 can be integrated into SAP Enterprise Portal (SAP EP) by using WebDAV today without extensions. Additionally, it will examine what possibilities arise from integrating this solution into SAP Enterprise Portal and what features can be used with the current software versions. Microsoft Exchange offers an excellent WebDAV implementation which can be used to integrate whole Public Folder trees or even user or resource mailboxes as repositories into SAP EP. All metadata can be accessed in read / write mode. Viewing Microsoft Exchange Server based content from SAP EP uses the same comfortable HTML presentation known from Outlook Web Access (OWA). As a result, Microsoft Exchange Server based content can not be modified by this HTML presentation because it is not running in the full context of OWA but only in a very limited context of SAP EP. Nevertheless, these restrictions could be abolished by developing a custom SAP EP based iView for rendering the Microsoft Exchange based content. |

Integration of Outlook Web Access (OWA) into SAP Enterprise Portal
Integrating Microsoft Exchange using Outlook Web Access allows portal users to access their Microsoft Outlook e-mail, task, contact and calendar information. The Web interface of Microsoft Outlook Web Access (OWA) for Exchange 2003 can be customized so that single folders can be made available only. SAP delivers the application integrator iView template that can be used for quickly integrating the inbox, calendar, task, and contacts folders into SAP Enterprise Portal. Beside the front end integration a new SAP Logon Ticket Kerberos Ticket bridging mechanism allows SAP Enterprise Portal to provide SSO to Microsoft Outlook Web Access also in extranet scenarios. |
