MCITP: Database Administrator
Microsoft Certified IT Professional: Database Administrator (MCITP: Database Administrator) è la certificazione "Premier" per gli amministratori dei server di database e permette di attestare la capacità di fornire 24 ore su 24, 7 giorni su 7 le soluzioni di business richieste dalle organizzazioni.
Gli amministratori di database installano o configurano SQL Server e gestiscono database o database multidimensionali, account utente e le funzionalità di disponibilità, ripristino e reporting dei database, oltre a progettare o implementare caratteristiche di protezione o automazione dei server e monitorare e risolvere i problemi relativi alle attività di SQL Server. Gli amministratori di database in genere operano all'interno di organizzazioni di medie o grandi dimensioni.
Microsoft Skills Assessment per SQL Server 2005 è un valido strumento che consente agli amministratori di database di individuare percorsi di formazione e risorse didattiche per la preparazione all'esame.

Conseguimento della certificazione MCITP: Database Administrator
I candidati alla certificazione MCITP devono innanzitutto soddisfare i requisiti previsti per la certificazione MCTS: SQL Server 2005 (un esame). Dopo aver conseguito questa certificazione, i candidati possono ottenere la certificazione MCITP: Database Administrator superando i due esami richiesti.
I Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA) possono effettuare l'aggiornamento alla certificazione MCITP: Database Administrator sostenendo un esame di aggiornamento anziché i due esami richiesti. I professionisti in possesso della certificazione MCDBA devono comunque ottenere la certificazione MCTS: SQL Server 2005 come prerequisito.
