CORE 連携研究プロジェクト

マイクロソフト産学連携研究機構 CORE 連携研究プロジェクトは、2005 年春より開始されました。その主要なゴールは、(1) マイクロソフトリサーチの研究者と日本の情報工学、計算機工学の研究者との間に、より緊密な連携を構築することであり、(2) マイクロソフトがこのような産学連携を通じて日本のイノベーションへの貢献を推進することです。マイクロソフト産学連携研究機構 (IJARC) では、この連携の中から、Microsoft Research と日本の大学・研究機関との相互交流を深め、高度で先進的なテクノロジーの開発や日本の市場ニーズに対応したテーマに関する研究および研究者育成を共同で推進し、日本のアカデミック界の発展に貢献してまいりたいと考えております。このゴールを達成するため、CORE プロジェクトでは MSR の研究者を各 CORE プロジェクトに割り当てるというユニークな連携スキームが採用されています。この産学連携は、それぞれの研究活動を切り離すものではありません。むしろ、各研究活動を結びつける役割を担っていると考えております。

第 5 回 Core プロジェクト

2008 年秋、IJARC では computer vision and graphics/Search and mining technology/Speech and natural language processing の 3 分野と Blue Sky program のカテゴリーの研究者を対象とする「第 5 回マイクロソフト産学連携研究機構 CORE プロジェクト」への参加者を公募しました。2008 年 12 月、IJARC Academic Advisory Committee は、応募された 37 のプロジェクトの中から CORE5 プロジェクトとして 7、Blue Sky プロジェクトとして 3 つのプロジェクトを選出しました。
