Program Manager

It is an ideal time to be part of MSN in the Asia Pacific region. The business, technology, sales and marketing decisions for the MSN portals are made by small teams where every individual has the ability to routinely make a huge impact. These are markets with a lot of potential in need of smart, energetic and technically savvy PMs to help build and implement the right platform, tools and solutions for their business.

These program management positions play an exciting and critical role in the success of MSN within the market. Working alongside the markets leadership team, these Program Managers are responsible for understanding the markets business plans, understanding how the existing technology helps and hinders those plans, driving the international product development teams to make the right strategic improvements to the core platform and managing development resources to help implement the technology portions of the markets business plan.

  • Staffing - Within the first sixty days you will staff your Market Solutions team with vendor program management, development, design and test resources appropriate for your market given commitments and budget. You will subsequently develop FY09 staffing and budget plans within the first six months.

  • Executing – In parallel with long term planning activities, you will lead the day-to-day execution against the short and long term plans for your market. This work will include supporting the deployment of new MSN channels, new features within channels, MSN Mobile, MSN Video and cross network best practices. This also includes development of market specific solutions and support of multinational projects such as MSN In Concert, Live Earth and the 2008 Olympics. In addition to your client management responsibilities the day to day work will include writing specifications, implementing technologies, technical troubleshooting and vendor management.

In addition to the objectives described above, you will be expected to develop technical expertise around the tools and technologies in use within your market and those being developed and deployed by the international teams; to evangelize your markets requirements to product development teams; and to understand and incorporate best practices being developed in other markets around the world.
