    How do I download a specific Style Guide?

    1. In the dropdown list above, select the language for the Style Guide you would like to download.

    2. A dialog window entitled "File Download" opens.

    3. To view the Style Guide, please click on "Open".

    4. To save the Style Guide locally on your computer, select "Save" and choose a folder on your computer.

    Known Issues

    Symptom 1: The right pane displays an error message: “This program cannot display the webpage.”

    Solution: To view the file, you will need to unzip it. If the file does not open correctly (the right hand preview pane displays an error message),please click on any of the links in the table of contents in the left preview pane. This should take care of the issue.

    Symptom 2: The right pane displays an error message: “Navigation to the webpage was canceled.”

    Solution: To view the file, you will need to download the chm file and unzip it. Then please try either of the following solutions:

    Method 1

    1. Double-click the .chm file.

    2. In the Open File-Security Warning dialog box, click to clear the Always ask before opening this file check box.

    3. Click Open.

    Method 2

    1. Right-click the CHM file, and then click Properties.

    2. Click Unblock.

    3. Double-click the .chm file to open the file.

    Where is the English Style Guide?

    The English Style Guide (Microsoft® Manual of Style for Technical Publications) is only available in print. For information, please visit http://www.microsoft.com/mspress/books/6074.aspx.
