working with educators around the world to help realize
the full potential of all students and their academic
institutions. Through the right technologies, programs,
and software solutions, together we can help address
educational challenges and opportunities of the 21st
Century.
This roadmap is to help educators in Latin America
determine how they can create educational environments
for school and university students designed for the 21st
Century Learning. We provide resources to help you
evaluate and plan for this goal so you can take your

21st Century Learning
In the world of 21st Century learning,
students, educators, parents, and
communities are linked in a global
environment that offers compelling new
opportunities for education.
Education is changing, and so is learning –
as a result, so is teaching. Technology is
helping to accelerate this process with
easy-to-use tools and applications that are
comfortable using in their day-to-day lives.
Effective learning takes place not because
of the technology, but because educators
have embraced new technologies, 21st century
methodologies, and practices that include a
student-centered approach to learning as key
reform in education, in ensuring students
are prepared for the world of work and an
appropriate environment for the 21st Century
Learning. |

But there are important questions to answer
first. How do you take your current
situation and make the changes needed to
achieve effective learning? How do you set
up an environment that meets the needs of
students, educators, and administrators? How
do you customize the technology available to
you for the most effective learning
scenarios? What works and what doesn’t work?
Together with you, Microsoft would like to
help you discover the answers to these
questions through the exploration of our
21st Century Latin American Primary and
Secondary Education Roadmap, which covers
four related areas: •
Driving the vision •
Articulating the vision •
Funding the vision •
Private and Public Partnerships
