The best
software solutions or educational programs must
first have safe and secure administrative
systems in place before they can be used.
Educators and their IT professionals have to
build in the following elements:
 |
 |
• |
 |
Integrated Systems |
 |
| |
• |
|
Data warehousing |
 |
| |
• |
|
Analysis and Reporting Structures |
 |
| |
• |
|
Infrastructure Management |
 |
| |
• |
|
Administration and Security |
 |
Educators also require reliable methods to track
and monitor students progress so that
personalized learning can be responsive and
focused to their needs. Microsoft, in
collaboration with educational institutions and
IT professionals, has developed programs that
help optimize teaching and learning
administrative systems.
Localizations and Deployment, Security, and the
Learning Gateway solution are but a few of the
practical, real-world tools and programs that
exist to help you construct the best framework
for your educational technology solutions. |

Sharepoint Server Training
in Brazil
(Learning Gateway
System – Educational
Management Portal Solution).
Since 2004, Microsoft has
trained its partners in
Microsoft SharePoint Server
to help with collaboration
in their projects. As a
result, the partners have
learned they could provide
this solution to the
training process within
their educational
communities. Brazil is
having a proof of concept
with the Instituto Ayrton
Senna, Bradesco Foundation
and Innovative Schools
Lumiar by deploying its own
Learning Gateway Suite, with
the SharePoint server as one
of its components. (These
are private communities and
password is needed) |

The government
of the city of Medellín,
Colombia,
is supporting their
educational strategy through
a portal built using the
Learning Gateway model. This
portal will provide services
for 400,000 students and
more than 10,000 teachers.

Microsoft
Education Portal (Microsoft
Management Educational
Programs) in Brazil
was created to
support its Educational
Programs in 14 States across
the country. In 2004
Microsoft made available a
collaboration tool based on
the Microsoft SharePoint
Portal Server 2003. With
this tool the program
managers and partners can
upload reports, documents,
and calendars related to
their activities and keep
everyone up-to-date. It is,
therefore, possible to
manage all programs and
partners in a single
environment even though they
are in different locations.
The program is in
Partnership with Instituto
Ayrton Senna, Catholic
University of Sao Paulo,
Bradesco Foundation, and
External Vendors and is
available in Portuguese and
English.
