At Microsoft Press, we welcome proposals from authors with innovative ideas for books that teach our customers about Microsoft products and related technologies. Our book list covers topics ranging from basic software skills to in-depth, advanced subjects, and includes certification preparation, best practices, and general software engineering topics. If you have an idea for a book or are interested in writing for one of our established series, we want to hear from you.
Your first step is to review our proposal guidelines and contact our acquisitions team. Before submitting a full proposal, it is a good idea to send us an e-mail message in which you briefly describe your book, provide a copy of your resumé, and summarize your writing experience. If we are interested in learning more, we will let you know and ask you to submit a proposal, sample chapter, and outline.
