The Microsoft Certified Applications Developer (MCAD) certification can no longer be earned. All exams required to earn this certification have been retired. Candidates who previously earned this certification have demonstrated their ability to build applications by using Microsoft Visual Studio .NET and web services on Microsoft .NET Framework 1.0 and 1.1.
The MCAD certification shows that the candidate can successfully implement functional specifications and build, deploy, and maintain Windows and web applications for the Microsoft .NET Framework 1.0 and 1.1.
The MCAD can no longer be earned. All exams required to earn this certification have been retired. If you are a developer who works with Visual Studio 2008 or Visual Studio 2010, consider becoming a Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) or Microsoft Certified Professional Developer (MCPD).
