| About This Clinic This half-day, instructor-led clinic provides students with the knowledge and skills to successfully implement Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) in medium- and large-scale environments. It provides information about the new security features included in SP2 and discusses how those changes may impact end users. The clinic also shows how SP2 can be deployed in an enterprise environment, how to prepare for deployment and how to manage SP2 after installation. Review and modify the default network configuration settings for a Windows XP desktop. Review and modify the default firewall settings for a Windows XP desktop. Reduce applications failures by using Windows XP SP2 memory protection features. Review and modify the default Microsoft Outlook Express settings for a Windows XP SP2 desktop. Make Internet browsing more secure using the enhanced browser security features. Review and modify the default settings for Microsoft Internet Explorer on a Windows XP SP2 desktop. Determine the proper deployment option based on different deployment scenarios. Test mission critical applications. Deploy SP2 using Systems Management Server (SMS) 2.0 and SMS 2003.
