Training Catalog

The Microsoft Training Catalog is intended for individuals who are purchasing online training for their own use or those who want to find free online training offers.

To sign in to the Microsoft Training Catalog, use your Windows Live ID (email address and password). If you have a Hotmail account, MSN email account, or Microsoft Passport, you have a Windows Live ID. If you do not have a Windows Live ID, go to the Windows Live ID site to sign up and create your credentials.

You can get your Windows Live ID number by following four simple steps:

  • Go to the Windows Live sign-in page

  • Enter the email address and password associated with your Windows Live account.

  • In the middle of the page, click Registered Information.

  • Scroll to the bottom of the page to locate your unique ID.

Go to the Learning Manager Access Code page, and enter your access code.
Note The code is case-sensitive. You will be prompted to sign in with a Windows Live ID (the email address and password that you use to access the site each time you sign in).
If your employer provided you with an access code as part of your organization’s Microsoft Software Assurance or Volume Licensing purchases, refer to the Business Users tab.

Your employer might have provided you with an access code that works on our business e-learning sites. If your codes are as follows, refer to the Business Users tab.

Microsoft Software Assurance for Volume Licensing free courses

  • E-learning applications (Microsoft Office Word, Office Excel, Office Project): Access codes start with IWO

  • E-learning systems (Windows XP, Windows Vista): Access codes start with CLO

  • E-learning servers (Windows Server, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SQL Server): Access codes start with SRO

Microsoft Learning Solutions Volume Licensing purchased courses

  • Technical collection: xxxx-ELR-xxxx (the x denotes any alpha-numeric character)

  • Technical library: Access codes start with TEL

  • Desktop library (the 2007 Microsoft Office system, Microsoft Office 2003, Microsoft Office Project): Access codes start with DEL

  • Business skills library (Microsoft Office 2003 business skills): Access codes start with BEL

When you purchase e-learning from the Microsoft Training Catalog, you use your own Windows Live ID and thus you should only purchase training content for yourself. If you need to purchase e-learning for someone else, refer to the Universal E-Learning Vouchers page or the Volume Licensing page.

Since you must exchange personal credit card information during the refund process, we ask that you visit the support page and call the number listed for your area.

Elevate America / Britain Works

If you are a participant in the Elevate America or Britain Works program, you can access e-learning through the Training Catalog. Find out how to activate your access code, redeem your voucher, or begin your e-learning.

Elevate America

The Elevate America voucher program launched in April 2009 and officially terminated on August 26, 2010. Elevate America vouchers can no longer be redeemed at the Elevate America website.

  • Visit the Microsoft E-Learning website

  • On the right, click Returning Users and sign in as instructed.

  • Click My Learning in the upper-left corner to get to your personalized space that stores all of the training that you have saved.

  • Click the course that you want to start.

You will be able to access the training for 12 months from the day you redeemed the Elevate America voucher. For example, if you redeemed your Elevate America voucher on August 15, 2010, you will have access to the training until August 15, 2011.

Britain Works

If you are a participant in the Britain Works program, you can access e-learning through the Training Catalog. Find out how to activate your access code, redeem your voucher, or begin your e-learning.
