Second Shot is available for all academically priced MCSA, MCSE and MCSD exams administered through Prometric test centers. These exams are identified by exam numbers preceded by an 072 or 073 prefix. Second Shot is also available for commercially priced MTA (098) exams administered through Prometric test centers. Second Shot is not available for academically priced MTA exams through Certiport test centers. Academic exams are only offered to students and faculty members currently affiliated with an academic institution, so you’ll need to provide proof of your academic status when you request the Second Shot voucher and when you take the test.

When you request the voucher for an academic exam, you must provide a valid academic ID in a form of a student ID number or a faculty ID number and the name of your academic institution.

When taking the test, you must present the following. Failure to do so will result in cancellation of your appointment.

  • A valid student ID/faculty ID. Alternatively, a transcript, tuition receipt, or class schedule (within the last year)

  • A valid photo ID (driver’s license or passport)
