The simulations provide an environment that is similar to the live exams, enabling the same interaction. Since the inception of the Microsoft Office Specialist certification program in 1998, associated certification exams have been delivered by using "live" Office programs. For example, Office Specialist certification exams for Excel required test takers to use Excel to construct responses to a series of assigned tasks. While Office Specialist certification exams for Office XP and Office 2000 will continue to be delivered in a live-program environment, beginning with Microsoft Office 2003 Editions exams, some Office Specialist certification exams will use interactive simulations to begin to facilitate broader distribution of exams and support of new Microsoft Office System functionality. |
