At the end of this half-day hands-on lab, students will understand the benefits of the 2007 Microsoft Office system and be able to describe the new features related to the client and server components of the 2007 Microsoft Office system.
The primary audience for this hands-on lab is the IT Professional who generally works with both Microsoft Windows and Office technologies. The types of duties that are typical of this IT Professional are administrative and support duties, such as the planning and deployment of Office server products in a Windows environment, configuration and security administration, and Office upgrades and updates. They will be specifically interested in getting high-level information about the Microsoft 2007 Office System from this hands-on lab.

After completing this hands-on lab, students will be able to:

To get the most out of this hands-on lab, participants should meet the following prerequisites:
| • | 1 year experience with Office system technologies. |
| • | 1 year experience with Windows client and server operating systems. |
| • | Experience installing, configuring, and supporting Microsoft Office technologies. |
| • | Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services 2.0 is recommended. |
Lab 1: Benefits of Deploying the 2007 Office System
In this lab, students will learn how the 2007 Office System can increase productivity, provide effective enterprise content management, simplify collaboration and enhance knowledge discovery and insight.

In this lab, students learn the key innovations of 2007 Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access, and InfoPath. Students are also introduced to collaboration and portal technologies provided by Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 components.
