The new Office 2010 product activation process for Volume Licensing customers is based on proven Volume Activation processes already being used with Windows 7 Enterprise. More flexible and manageable than before, the consistent Volume Activation process ensures you are accessing genuine software from Microsoft with support and compliance to provide peace of mind. You have two activation options: You can run a local activation service, called Key Management Service (KMS), in your environment. In this option there is no need for individual PCs to connect to Microsoft for activation. In the second option, you can complete activation directly with Microsoft using a Multiple Activation Key (MAK) with an upper limit on activations. Learn more about Volume Activation.
