This brief replaces the version published October 2013. It has been updated to reflect changes to the Windows Embedded licensing options effective April 1, 2014, including:
Windows Embedded 8.1 Industry Enterprise edition is available as an upgrade license through Volume Licensing; it is no longer a Software Assurance benefit. This aligns to the changes made to Windows desktop effective March 2014.
